Today Our Children Move Up
September 3rd was Move Up Day at Higher Elevations. Children who were ready for their next classroom started in their new rooms that morning.
Moving up is a big step for a young child. A new room means new shelves to explore, a new spot at the table, and a teacher learning their name. Some children have been in the same room for a year. They walk into a space built for who they are becoming.
We move a child up when they are developmentally ready for it. A child who is ready for more finds it in the next room: bigger challenges, new materials, and older friends to look up to. Children move up on their own timeline, each one taking the step when the time is right.
Stepping into a new room stretches a child, and that stretch is where confidence grows. It is the good kind of hard, met with a teacher close by.
Move Up Day also opens space in the Meadows, our younger rooms, for new children joining Higher Elevations. We're proud to watch our children take this next step.
