One Simple Swap, a Whole Lot of Halloween
Halloween is on its way, and at Higher Elevations we are marking it with a Costume Swap on Friday, September 25 for our families. Bring in an outgrown costume, and take home another one that fits.
Kids grow fast. A costume that fit last year is snug by fall, and a perfectly good outfit ends up in the back of a closet. The swap gives all of those costumes a second Halloween. Your child gets something new to them, and another family gets the one you pass on.
This is the spirit of our community in action. Higher Elevations was built on a community that cares, and a costume exchange captures that heart completely. It is families supporting families, one cape and one crown at a time.
A child who hands over an outfit they loved, so another kid can enjoy it, learns what it feels like to give. Dress-up itself is big work for a young mind. Pretending to be a lion or a firefighter is how children try on the world.
Taking part is easy. We encourage our families to look through closets this week, set aside the costumes that no longer fit, and bring them to the center. Then pick out something for your child on September 25. Every costume is free, and every family is welcome. We will see you there.
