Reggio-Inspired Child Care and Preschool in Northeast Portland
Higher Elevations Learning Place cares for children from six weeks through six years in Northeast Portland. Our rooms are named for the meadows and mountains around us. Sprouts, Buttercups, Huckleberries, Bluebirds, Hawks, and Chickadees. In every one of them, children follow what they are curious about, and teachers work right alongside them.
Ages 6 weeks to 6 years - Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm - 12029 NE Ainsworth Circle - USDA breakfast, lunch, and snacks - ERDC welcome
Our Mission
Children learn best when they are trusted to lead. That belief shapes every room in this building.
We follow the Reggio Emilia approach, so children investigate the questions that matter to them and teachers pay close attention to where those questions go. Our infants and youngest toddlers are cared for using RIE principles, which lets even the smallest children set their own pace.
Families are part of this. You know your child in ways we never will, and we build the year around what you tell us.
Every child who walks in here can get where they need to go. Our job is to clear the path and walk it with them.
At Higher Elevations Learning Place, we elevate not just children's learning, but the entire ecosystem that surrounds them—one family, one partnership, one community connection at a time.
